Designing Your Custom Buttons
When designing your button the diagram at the bottom must be used for optimal results.
LIVE AREA
The dotted circle indicates the live area of your button. This is the space your text and any important graphics/images need to stay inside. Do not print this dotted circle. It is shown here only as a guide.
CUTTING LINE
The cutting line is where the paper will be cut when producing your buttons.
Print this cutting line.
BUTTON TOP
Mark the top of your button. This mark should be 1/16" to 1/8" in size and be just inside the cutting line.
BACKGROUND
If you are wanting a background color, a graphic or a photograph to extend to the button edge, extend it past the live area out to the cutting line, keeping the portion you definitely want to show inside the live area. All of the live area, plus a little bit beyond that, will appear on your button. The remainder will roll around the button edge.
DESIGN TIPS
Because buttons are cut in stacks of 20 at one time there will always be some that are cut slightly off-center. For that reason, we suggest no curved text or border around the edge of the button. If a button is cut off-center, text near the edge will roll around the side, making the button appear unbalanced.
